Construction of junction and service roads in the Nalda-Albelda de Iregua section of the N-111 highway.

Project Description: The purpose of this project is the construction of a junction that eliminates the two existing intersections and two service roads parallel to the national highway that will provide the necessary access to the numerous existing buildings and industrial facilities on both sides of the road, achieving total access control. The grade of the national road is raised in the section affected by the construction of the junction. In the rest, the national road tries to take advantage of the existing road surface, projecting the spreading of a reinforcement made of hot bituminous mix. The junction is planned at kilometer point 317+300 of the N-111 road. It consists of a traffic circle located at the current ground level, with a 66 m diameter in the axis, over which the national road runs by means of three equal spans of 27.8 m in length. The deck, in each span, is formed by two 1.70 m thick prefabricated beams and a reinforced concrete slab in situ, with a minimum thickness of 25 cm.

Work: Ismael Andrés took over the execution of this work as main contractor, after being started by another company, which did not finish the works, having only executed the structures of the overpass deck. Ismael Andrés took on the challenge of finishing the works, carrying out all the remaining earthworks and structures, drainage, as well as the definition and execution of traffic circles and other architectural elements present in the Project. The work was completed with the extension of granular pavements and asphalt pavements, the renewal of signaling and beacons, and public lighting works, as well as the replacement of affected services and environmental restoration measures.

Project peculiarities: Ismael Andrés took over the execution of this work as main contractor, after it was originally started by another company, which did not finish the works, having only executed the structures of the overpass deck. Ismael Andres took on the challenge of finishing the works with the above-mentioned situation in mind.
